this document provides an objective overview of the platform, its current state, and links to review all policies before any account creation or data submission.

what it is

Create The Space (CTS) is a community platform connecting wellness practitioners, small organizations, and the people who seek their services. it was founded in Oakland in 2018 as a wellness consultancy centered on the wellbeing of Black men. the platform is the technology layer that extends that work — peer-led, community-anchored, serving practitioners across modalities (therapy, coaching, bodywork, energy work, circle keeping, and more).

the app is mobile-first (Android + iOS) with a web admin surface. it is not a marketplace in the traditional sense — it is a connector. the platform does not provide clinical services. practitioners maintain their own scope, licensing, and client relationships.

what the platform does

for community members

  • discover practitioners, events, organizations, and places through an interest-driven directory
  • RSVP to events with calendar sync
  • join communities and channels (text, voice, video, stage)
  • save items to a personal collection (“My Book”)
  • message practitioners and community members directly
  • receive community-driven recommendations via a discovery engine

for practitioners

  • practice portal with client roster, session notes (8 modality-specific templates), and service listings
  • private 1:1 video sessions via LiveKit (end-to-end encrypted rooms)
  • booking flow with deposits and calendar integration
  • credential verification path for licensed providers
  • community of practice peer network

for organizations

  • organization profile with community activation
  • event hosting and management
  • broadcast announcements and partnership network
  • donation/support collection via Stripe

data & privacy — what to review before signing up

CTS does not require you to create an account to review policies. all policies are available as static documents:

policy documents

  • privacy policy — what data is collected, how it's stored, who can see it
    cr8thespace.com/privacy
  • terms of service — platform rules, liability limitations, account terms
    cr8thespace.com/terms
  • community guidelines — 9 principles governing community behavior, violation types and moderation process
  • practitioner agreement — peer model acknowledgment, scope of practice boundaries

data architecture highlights

  • row-level security: every sensitive table enforces that users can only access their own data
  • encrypted fields: session notes, care records, and intake data use column-level encryption
  • no data selling: CTS does not sell, share, or monetize user data to third parties
  • account deletion: users can request full account deletion
  • authentication: email/password. no third-party SSO required. no social login data harvested

what CTS does NOT do

  • does not provide clinical services or medical advice
  • does not store health records in a HIPAA-regulated capacity
  • does not track location without explicit permission
  • does not confirm to anyone that their profile was viewed
  • does not use countdown timers, shame triggers, or dark patterns

  2. ask questions — anything about data, architecture, business model, legal structure
  3. if interested — we can schedule a walkthrough of the app on a shared screen (no account creation required on your end)
  4. no timeline — this isn't going anywhere. take the time you need.
